Introduction
This upcoming cycle, every single county in Georgia will have a sheriff election (159 counties). The same is true of almost every county in Texas and Michigan.
According to our research, we are projecting over 1200 county sheriff elections across the country this November spanning across 122 million people. Many of these Americans don’t fully realize that they can have a direct say in the leadership and direction of their local police department by choosing their Sheriff this year.
The gap for voters and advocates is the same– information about where these elections are taking place and who is running in them can be hard to find.
